SSM’s liaison led to a direct deal between the local farmers and the future consumer Enterprises Ltd, Mumbai (Big Bazar).
It is not a fact- unaware that the farmers are fleeced by a series of middlemen, brokers and agents while selling out their farm produce.
In an effort to enable the farmers gain better price on their farm yield, SSM (through KVK) had held discussions with the concerned and arranged for a direct purchase deal between the Sagroli farmers and The Big bazar.
Consequently, the Big Bazar started purchasing the Moong Bean (Green Gram) from the farmers of Sagroli at an affordable price (Rs 100-200 higher than the market price).
The business started last year, is continued for the 2nd consecutive year too.

The farmers are very happy to get what they deserve, that too at their door step.
